I have never heard of a blue box turtle...I wonder if it was dyed blue in an attempt to try to make more money, but that is just my opinion.

If it is photoshopped they did a good job. I am leaning towards it being dyed like someone else said. Never seen a blue box turtle before, but it is really cool if it is a genetic trait.

He doesn't look that blue to me. Just a "bluer" shade of gray. And perfectly normal!

This is a picture of a male gulf coast box turtle with some blue that Carl had sent me.

I have never seen them in person, only pictures. I wonder where thay guy found that one.

i just bought this animal off of another kingsnake.com ad.
i came across your forum while searching for some more info on this guy. i've never seen anything like him, and i've seen hundreds of e. box turtles.
it's definitely not dyed or altered. he changes shades of blue drastically depending on temp and mood. early of a morning he's a blue/gray and after a few minutes in the sun he's a bright cobalt blue on the head and legs.
if anyone knows more about this "color phase" of box please let me know.
when i get back in town i'll take several new pics and get them up.

WOW! You bought him? I guess we have a new rich uncle! lol Congrats. I would love to have an offspring from this box turtle. This turtle's father must have been a chameleon! Cant wait to see the pictures.
