Black mulch?

Hello! I just bought some black mulch from Home Depot and was just making sure that it is tort friendly. I was reading somewhere that some mulch can be toxic to tortoises? So does anyone know if this is true or what it is? Thanks so much! Oh and I have Russians ^__^

The black, red and any colored mulch is died and the dye used can be toxic to tortoises. Mulch is fine but natural clean and pure is best. Cypress, hardwood, bark wood, orchid bark, eucalyptus, and peat moss are the best to use. Stay away from the black, red, or any colored dyed, plastic or rubber, cedar and pine mulch.
