Biting at smaller tort

Just saw my bigger guy try to take a bite at the little one is this normal? He could really hurt him if he got him. Could this be some type of mating attempt?

Don't house animals of very different sizes together. The larger ones are likely to bully the smaller ones (as you have observed), and are capable of injuring them. Keep your tortoises only in enclosures where they will not be victimized.

Bowser started nipping at peach the first day but I put a stop to that by putting some distance between them till both got adjusted.But I agree with the above if there is a large size difference they should be kept separate due to bullying...sulcatababies are bull dozers and big bullys so even babies will fight.mine were both hatchlings and they are ok for now but I am well aware that if it starts again they will need to be separated.
