Here you go @Bryan. All the photo's I have of this 14" SCL female cherryhead. The owner has had her for 12yrs,
Next time I talk to her I'll try and get some info about the torts history, trouble is she's had that many torts(over 100 of around 12 different species) she forgets about the individuals history, she's down sizing to about 30 torts through ill health. I have the opportunity to aquire this one and a few others when I'm ready. Love this one though, she's unique and a quality name. Edna.
Started a new thread so not to butt in on @Redstrike 's thread.

As you can see some of the scute has peeled off, does anyone have any ideas as to why.

Wow, she is huge. Could mating have caused her secures to come off. Did she acquire her as an adult or a juvenile 12years ago?
I don't know how old the tort was when she got her.I'll find out though. Good point about the scute. :)

No, I really doubt it. It looks like way long time ago she had some sort of injury to that area. You can see it is a bit deformed there. It happened when this was a very young tortoise.

Hi Yvonne. Do you think it could have just peeled off over time, and originally it was just a natural deformity.

It seems I have done the usual trick being a man, and not listened AGAIN. lol The owner just told me she has had her for 20yrs and bought her off a guy who had her and a Hermanns. That all she knows. I've asked her what size she was 20yrs ago.

Beautiful scale color and marbling on her plastron. Any idea if she has ever produced offspring?

The owner has had this red for 20 years, and was this size when she got the tort. So would 30 to 40yrs be a good educated guess. She layed eggs but never been incubated.

Thanks for the background behind her. She's a beauty.
