Been there. Done that. Bled for hours.
They will bite if they get the chance and the tail is a formidable whip/weapon! But it's the claws that get you. They are very, very sharp and I guess they are also full of bacteria so I'm told because you will not only get cut up by them, but then the wounds will itch like crazy.

I handle animals like that everyday. If you are bleeding after the encounter, you've done something wrong!

Such a pretty boy. I want to hug him too. I've hugged my fair share of pissed off animals though, whether they consented or not.

He is lovely. See many colorful ones, even if they are bit smaller?

Years ago we had GIANTS.
Now, this is about as large as they are seen here.
We need another couple of warm years.

I've been finding a lot of them this size.
Nice green with blue on the heads.
I gather them up from the work area and release them by a nearby lake with canals.
