This will be my first tort. I have the space for a bookcase enclosure. Which species will do the best in this enclosure?
Any opinions are welcomed
thanks

Tortoises need a lot of room. I had mine for about two days before that was very apparent. With that in mind, stick with the smallest species - so that the space you can provide is adequate. Horsfield's (Russian) is a popular choices. I have a Hermann's, also popular. Greeks too.

Only get one. Not a pair.

The species Rue mentioned are great.

depending on the species you get the bookcase enclosure will be nearly impossible to keep warm and humid enough.
