Basking and letting it all hang out

Just went to have a look at Ned and found him basking in the morning sun. When he does thus he completely spread eagles himself - all four limbs pushed out as far as they will go. Dude has long legs. But today I noticed a new thing, he was letting his tail hang loose too. I don't know about other species, but I've never seen this guy's tail out and about. It's a pity I missed it with the camera.

It's funny that you call it the "dead tortoise pose" lol. the first week I had my little guy, I noticed him doing this and totally freaked out. "OMG what did I do? Is he dead? Is he sick?! What happened?!" Now that I'm used to it I think it's adorable when he sleeps in silly/awkward positions.
