Barry the Musk needs your help

Hi People

I need your help...Barry is going to the vet on Thursday but was wondering from your experience you can tell me what is wrong. I have noticed recently that his shell has not been the best of colours, so was going to treat him for shell rot...but I noticed a small chunk go missing. I did think this was to Barry loving diving off from the dock and the rocks..but on closer inspection I noticed some rather odd red marks on his body. Will include pictures to give you a better idea and a pic of the tank

Hi Sam, and welcome to the Forum!

Mud/musk turtles like to be able to walk and not swim. They CAN swim, but they prefer to walk up the sides to get to the top of the water.

It's good that you're taking him to the vet.
