I'm picking up a baby (<20g) tort tomorrow morning. I made a smaller enclosure 4x2ft this week.

Bought an old window off Craigslist as the front. Sliding glass doors quote was $42!

Layers - 1in of peat moss, 4-6in of coco coir and a bunch of sphagnum moss. The white tiles are just there so I can monitor & adjust temps as necessary. I still need 2 dishes for food and cuttlebone.

Question - do I need a humid hide if I have the moss everywhere?

I would offer one, but most likely he will dig into the substrate. Some of mine used the hide and some of mine didn't.

I'll bet you have a hard time finding him in there.

You can just use a piece of tile or slate for his food.
That will also help keep his beak trimmed.
For water a shallow terracotta saucer sunk into the substrate is a cheap and popular option, it's good to have it big enough that he can soak in it too.
