Baby food soak?

Hello again every one I hope I'm not bothering y'all to much. But I've been seeing a lit of people/post about soaking the turtles in baby food.
What is this for ? Why is this done?

It's for turtles or tortoises that are sick and/or aren't eating. The general thought is that through drinking of the baby food water (hopefully) and also the absorbtion from the skin that the turtle/tortoise will get some vitamins (particularly A) into their systems aiding in their recovery.
