Asymmetrical Plastron

I have a 1 year old Sulcata. Shelly suffered Austwickia Chelonae on her first 8 months but has started showing recovery and growth in the last 4 months. However, I noticed that her upper right plastron does seem to grow symmetrically with the other parts. Should I be concerned? No signs of infection and has been eating well and active.

Sometimes this just happens in tortoises. I don't know the reason for it, but there is nothing I have ever tried to make these areas begin to grow. Just keep up a good regimen of feeding and getting the tortoise daily UV exposure and see if the affected area ever begins to grow normally again. Sometimes they will, sometimes they will not.

Take a soft bristle toothbrush and gently scrub that growth line that seems to be stuck. Then dab on and rub in some cold pressed coconut oil. You can do this daily until you see some growth happening.

I have tried doing this with both mineral oil and glycerin. Neither of those helped.

Hopefully the coconut oil will be successful.
