Hey all, I have this in my enclosure now, but I keep being told by other keepers that it is bad for the tortoise if they ingest it. I would remove it but everyone here seems to rave about it. I'm just really confused about what to do.
The latest advice I received was to use Herbifloor which is like a compacted grass substrate made specially for tortoises.
SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE!!!

There are many, many people, especially in the UK, who use aspen bedding for their Mediterranean tortoises. You can't use it for tortoises that need humidity, or a moist substrate, because aspen molds if you wet it. It isn't harmful if ingested.
