hi in wondering if tomatoes are okay to feed often to my redfoot . He seems to really love them it's the only food I've seen him actually run towards so far
A little won't hurt, but not as a main part of the diet. Some varieties would be better then others with things such as less acid. I place the cherry tomato plants all over my yards (not in any enclosures) as I love to eat them fresh off the vine. So I nibble as I walk around and toss the 'maters with imperfections into the tortoises as a treat. Same when I make bacon and 'mater sandwiches, the top parts are tossed to the tortoises. The tortoises love the rare treat and I love not wasting them. Not something to buy or grow for them by any means.
