Hi Tom...thanks and I wish I were too....only thing is is that it is kinda a "lily" pad type of leaf with a non wood type of stem? Hard to see that in this pic because it is constantly shaded in this particular spot...hmmmm? Any botanists on the forum?
I think its in the philodendrom family, judging from the flower stalk that's coming up on the left side of the picture.
No, I take that back. I'll bet its a type of hollyhock. Let's wait until that flower stalk opens, then we'll know for sure. Maybe the desert hollyhock. If that's the case, its edible.
That would be totally awesome...because they are coming up in a few spots under my elm and mimosa trees at the front porch...a new tasty addition would be good...will wait for the bloom....thank you
Thanks Kristina....I am pulling for Yvonne as well....after she said the desert hollyhock I looked it up and looked at loads of pics...her plant id is looking pretty good
