I know that Edna i.d.'d a plant similar to #1 as sedum, however, I think yours is Kalanchoe. I'm with you on the rest.

Now I'm going to have to argue with a mod! I think the first picture shows a sedum. My generic Autumn Joy looks just like that. I'm adding a link to a site that discusses kalanchoe. The first thing it says is kalanchoe doesn't like too much sun, making it a perfect indoor plant. Sedum loves the sun!

It's sedum, I have been growing it for years, it will get clusters of pink blooms on the top, later in the year, and the root system will more than double every year after it settles in. The wandering jew(all parts) is eaten by every tortoise I have, and it comes back every spring and it will grow just about anywhere and in any type of soil.
