I know that Edna i.d.'d a plant similar to #1 as sedum, however, I think yours is Kalanchoe. I'm with you on the rest.

It's sedum, I have been growing it for years, it will get clusters of pink blooms on the top, later in the year, and the root system will more than double every year after it settles in. The wandering jew(all parts) is eaten by every tortoise I have, and it comes back every spring and it will grow just about anywhere and in any type of soil.
