Almost Beetles For Baby Boxies

I feed these, the pupal stage of meal worms, to the young eastern box turtles as a main part of their diet. When they change from the larva stage into the pupal stag they are very soft and I think a very good food for them. This stage can be preserved by refrigeration just like the worms.I just thought with so many box turtle keepers as members, some may want to try this option as part of a varied diet.

My thoughts are that they are as nutritious as what they have eaten during the larva stage. Good bug food makes good bugs.

I'll have to try that. I know most reptiles wouldn't go for them, but if box turtles do that's great.

have been feeding these to my baby for a couple weeks he seems to love them

I feed those to my baby 3 toed as well, she even loves them when they've turned into a beetle.

Thanks, They were the late hatchers so they were brought in for the winter.
