I had the tortoises out, including "The Howies" (the Leopard yearling & hatchlings) and Dasani (the little Hermann's).
All of a sudden Dasani went running, and so Deontay picked her up to check on her, and these fire ants just came out of nowhere and attacked her. He ran her in the house and gave her to me because he couldn't get them off - they were attached to her legs, biting hard, and it was SOOOO hard to get them off her.
I have her soaking right now.
Will they have done any lasting damage, do you think? She's so small, three ants easily covered an entire leg (and they were on ALL of her legs)!
MY POOR BABY!!!!!!
They didn't seem to get at The Howies but we have them soaking too, just in case!
