I was just wondering why there are so many Homes on every site I go to that sells Torts?

Not only that, but they are being advertised at 30-40$ on average, and compared to other torts, that just seems low.

Why is that?

Is it because they are harder to care for?

Just curious!

This is the time of year they are imported. Once the quota per year goes down, they'll get more expensive. I'm getting a pair while they're cheap!

Yep it's that time of year. It's more they are still being harvested in large numbers. When there are fewer animals, prices go up. Getting them just because they are not as costly to buy is a bad reason to get them. They often can end up costing more in the long run.

That's not the reason I'm getting them, but it certainly is an advantage. I've always wanted hingebacks, they are unique. That's the main reason I want them...so i'll take advantage of the low cost. Of course it will cost more to keep them and treat them for parasites, etc...
