Many know this giant aldabra as Alfa and that we purchased him from a Zoo almost two years ago. When he was transported to our program he was very shy and we felt that he was picked on by many kids, etc. while he lived at the Zoo setting. Well, he is no longer shy and we have for sure bonded with him at many levels. These pictures show that he no longer is shy and nervous that people are going poke and harass him. These days he is very trusting, receptive to personal attention and being hand fed!

I am very happy to see him looking so relaxed. It always amazes me how perceptive animals are. They know instinctively when they are safe.

Most AWESOME photos! You are soooo lucky and blessed. My dream is to someday share my life with one of those beautiful and magnificent creatures.

Your post and those pictures made me tear up. Alfa looks so happy and at peace with the world in your care. What a wonderful gift to give to such a majestic animal. :)
