Anyone know what kind of snake that is, or what language was being spoken?

If this is taking place in Thailand, there is every chance that these were wild animals. I have some questions... Am I silly for asking this...Do Geckos live with their mates? Do they become companion animals? Anyone think there is a chance the Geckos survived the attack? The rescuer was struck a few times and I'm really rooting for them!
