A Friend for my Redfoot

Have an 18 yr old Male Redfoot since baby, always been on his own. Seems very happy, healthy and content except in early summer when looking for a mate. At this age should/could I add another redfoot ? have option of an 8 year old healthy female. Dont know if they will fight/pester each other and is it best to leave well alone .. just want to do what is right for him.
He has a 25sqft enclosure that he is in all the time for 6 months here in United Kingdom and 250sqm of outside secure space he uses during summer months daylight hours.
Any advice or thoughts appreciated. Thanks

Tortoises don’t do well in pairs. If you wanted to add more, you would need to add at least two females after a very long quarantine period. However, your tortoise doesn’t want or need company, and is perfectly happy as a spoiled only child.

Tortoises should never be kept in pairs. Ages and sexes don't matter. Groups can sometimes work, but not pairs.

Thankyou all for your prompt replies, sort of what we thought but expert opinion is so much appreciated. Were very happy with this answer and our tortoise will remain a loner (if a little confused around June or July without female company)
