I agree! More competition would be good. I always enjoy the calendar but I'm surprised that only 30 or so end up making it. I know that some have difficulty figuring out the pixels, see the thread late, etc. But try again this year!

Are you talking about the pixel thing? The reason for that is when a small pixel picture is submitted it doesn't reproduce good. It may look good on the Forum, but when blown up to calendar size it washes out and is not recognizable.

Now-a-days, most cameras and cell phones take the larger pixel pictures.

Last year my entry was eliminated because it didn't match up to the 5 pixels required. Unbeknownst to me, when I emailed my picture my email program re-sized the picture and it arrived too small.

No. Everything really.
I've taken over 40 photos now of Bertha and every photo has something in it that I don't like. Some imperfection. Some part out of focus. It's just much more difficult than I'd imagined.
Photo posts are easy.
This is not.
I'm sure I'm not alone.

Oh, I totally agree. I have 15 species of turtle and tortoise, and I took many, many pictures. They were all fine if I wanted to post them here, however, not a one of them was calendar worthy. It's very hard to get a good picture.

(I got some GREAT pictures of Misty though (my dog))

it doesn't have to be perfect when I was a photo clerk at SavOn I saw lots of beautiful funny pictures not get printed because of minor flaws

I don't have a camera.
Wifey has a new camera phone thing though and has taken a billion pictures of Tidgy in super hi definition.
Now I must spend the next 48 hours going through them during which wifey will take another million.
