Oh yeah moist substrate and cardboard don't mix. Run out and get a cheap 50 gallon storage bin or something. It's a cheap workable alternative.

I would probe the site and look for multiple guides you can follow. A feeding dish/flat tile makes cleanup much more easier than sifting through substrate for half eaten morsels.

I believe mine was around 30g at 12 weeks. They all grow at different rates, but I'm no expert to say if yours is under weight or if mine was a little chubby thing. This is my first tortoise so I don't know what's an average weight for that age.

What a tiny baby! I do t know much about these guys. I can't imagine 18 grams at all. The previous members may have come off snotty, but their only intentions are to educate you and make sure the tortoise is receiving proper care. I hope someone comes along and can help you!
