So I was feeding a little zucchini earlier and accidentally spooked my Tino. When he pulled his head in a big gush of what looked like saliva (clear, little bubbles, slimy) came out of one his nose holes. I'm worried it might be a URI if it was really snot but it didn't look bad. Not yellow or...
Thanks so much for your response. I'm glad to say after some mazuri and all day grazing I haven't seen any loose stools in over a week! Yay! Actually almost two weeks now. I did not give the medicine and was waiting for one more episode to take him back to the vet but it hasn't happened. So...
I'm not totally convinced on the no parasite thing but I was told the sample was sent off to a lab for analysis and they said no parasite just some clostridium bacteria.
I'm thinking (hoping) it's diet related because it's off and on and I feel like if it were parasites he would have diarrhea all the time. However, I don't know if that assumption is accurate.
Will a parasite infection result in constant diarrhea? By constant I mean no normal poop at all. My sully some days has diarrhea and other days perfect grassy logs...Any thoughts?
Vet called today. Said lab said there were clostridium bacteria but that it "might be normal". No parasites. Poop today was beautiful lots of moist yet firm brown hardly smelly "logs" with grass mixed in. No diarrhea for several days now. Since last week actually.
I don't doubt that someone does miss him. She kept him for a few days to see if anyone in the area would call her as she is a well known rescue around here. No one did
Thank you all for your input. I'm fairly certain he does indeed have diarrhea because I've seen his "pee" before and it is crystal clear and slimy. This liquid is very much brown/dark brown and not as slimy
Thank you! I was concerned because I have read that eating too much is not good for them or their development. Tino was a rescue that was found out roaming about on his own about two months ago. I acquired him from a reptile rescue/friend near where I live.
How much is too much?... My 13 lb male sulcata lives outside on roughly an acre of south texas weeds/grasses. He eats pretty much consistently for most of the daylight hours. I figure this is enough to sustain him, but my question is, is grazing all day too much? The only thing I supplement his...
13 lb. Been having some diarrhea. He lives outside during the day on one acre with plenty of grasses. Since the diarrhea has started this is his diet 99%. For the poop...sometimes its good; solid, grassy, brown. Several times a week its totally watery, slimey, brown liquid. Other times yet, its...
