I am in the process of building a large outdoor enclosure for an ornate and was wondering if I could hibernate the turtle outdoors? And how if possible. I live in kansas where ornates are native but also heard that the refrigerator method is more safe. What do you guy think?
i was trying to figure out how to heat my 4 by 8 table for an adult hermann i will soon be getting but my basement were i will keep him for the winter is in the high 60s. Do you guys think i will be able to light it correctly if so what do you recommend? Thanks!
i am still building it and it will be for a baby, half of the enclosure will be growing weeds and will have plants for hides. For heating i plan on using Yvonne Gs idea for the incandescent bulbs. And the cage will sit on the floor if yo have any other ideas please let me know:)
yes i was wondering how i will light my huge indoor leopard tortoise table (12 ft by 12 ft) people say i should have only one uva/uvb and heat bulb would this be too small or should i add something like tub lights from the ceiling or add another uvb/uva heat bulb? sorry for the length lol :)
I am debating whether i should get a leopard tortoise i am very knowledgeable when it comes to reptiles and have done a lot of research on the species but the problem is my climate i am able to supply him with a large yard and proper husbandry but only for 4 months out of the year due to colder...
