I have a red footed Tortoise and we just got him some new bedding about three weeks ago, lately he has been digging into it and not coming out, almost like hibernating but red-footed tortoises don't hibernate. Please help

i don't know how to do it any other way, but i can give you a description, he has a fairly large cage with lots of bedding, he loves to burrow a plate for water and food and a log to hide in

I live in colorado, yes it gets very cold in the winter but gets very hot in the summer. No he doesn't have an outdoor enclosure, but i have been trying my best to get one.
