    Oh ok good. It was a gift and when I got him his shell was already like that. I'm doing my best to attend to his needs but I still have a lot of learning to do on how to take good care of him.

    Will bringing a heater in my room to keep it at 85 degrees help? And this weekend I'll get my dad to build me something for my tortoise when he's outside during the day.

    There's about a two feet distance in height from the tortoise and the lamp is that too close? I have a 100 watt as well just in case the 75 watt isn't warm enough. [hr] I'll tell my dad to make me something close to that night box on that pic. What kind of heater is that on that picture?

    It's a night bulb and the dog house is not heated. Ideally what should be the temperatures he should be kept at? [hr] And wow that's some great suggestions I will have to tell my dad to build me something like that in my backyard

    Thanks guys I'm excited that I finally joined he's about 15 lbs. But I've been reading that his shell isn't suppose to be that way... That it's due to bad nutrition. Right now he's eating my backyards grass and I give him flowers here and there and fruit once a month.

    He's about 15 pounds. In my room where he's kept at night and in cold weather his spot is always at 78-85 degrees.

    I live in Norwalk California. My backyard is pretty much his enclosure he's outside during the day and has a dog house to go inside when he wants to. But whenever it's cold out and I bring him in before it gets dark I bring him inside my house in my room where i have a 75 watt heat lamp for him.
