You could grow grasses, succulent (only some) and hibiscus in doors beside a window or under Grow lights. I'm am currently trying to grow hibiscus aloe mulberry and grass I dug up it the woods.( so there isn't any pesticides or fertilizers) I live in PA and I had the same problem.

Hey, I was wondering if I where to put grounded up egg shells into the container I grow my grass in. Would it affect the tortoise. I thought this might be good cause it could add some calcium to the grass.

Their shells almost look like a plowshares except you don't have to plow. The are truly exceptional. You should be proud.
