The sides are less than an inch tall, about the same height as the sides of a terra cotta saucer. And it is not glazed so it does not hold standing water very long- purposefully so there is not standing water left in it when it is unattended. You say he is not a Russian? That's news to me...

I have a question about my heat lamp- I have a UVB bulb in my new setup that's on a timer- so it goes off at night. On my tort's basking end I've got a heat lamp to keep it nice and toasty. It's not on a timer because don't want the temps to drop too much at night. Am I doing that right? Is it...
