So I have been noticing mushrooms popping up in both my torts indoor and outdoor enclosure. Both have organic soil and coco coir. In the outdoor enclosure they are popping up in the tortoise grass i gre for him to eat from and in his indorr enclosure it is poppi g up around his water bowl...
KevinGG,
Do you recommend any forums that discuss geckos or is this a good place too? I adopted 2 crested geckos and want to be educated on their care. And this site has helped me tremendously with my African Sulcata Tank. I have some wuestions regarding humidity levels and substrate. Thanks and...
So I built an indoor enclosure for my tort Tank and used organic soil and coco coir. He does go out during the day and in at night. I noticed today while picking him up to take him out that there were these teenie tiny little bugs...almost like the size of a pin head. They were very light...
I have a fruitless mulberry tree in my front yard and I was wondering if it is okay to feed my African Sulcata tort the leaves? I thought I have read I could but I want to check to make sure I could again. Thanks guys
He is outside about 10 hrs a day in a well covered and protected 4'x8' enclosure. Moist substrate and a hide he digs down in plus grass he walks in and seed I grew for him to eat.
Awesome I will check our HD this weekend. I am just wondering if he can still go in the grass area. I call our pest control company and we discussed the ants ans she said she thinks it would be okay. Those types of ants usually just want water or food. They are not the big, thick black or red...
Very nice enclosure. I had a chicken wire top for the indoor enclosure but couldn't control temps or humidity. I am still tweaking it . I am trying to have it ready for when temps get low.
I usually don't put a che in till temps go under 70 degrees at night. Then once that happens I do have it connected to a thermostat. The corrugated plastic does have notches along the sides to allow air in and out. I was thinking about drilling a few holes on the light side which is opposite...
The ants are very very small. They are not big, thick balck or red ants. Looks like they just want food and water since that area is wet because of me watering it every night and everything else is dry since I live in the so cal desert. As for the diatomaceous earth I will get some and sprinkle...
The attached pic isbof an area I just planted tort friendly seed. Well I noticed teenie tiny ants that were crawling around where the grass is growing. Is there anything I can use or do to safely kill them or is it still okay to let tank roam in there? I just tilled the dirt and brought in...
So I added corrugated plastic to the top, a electronic guage for temp and humidity, and I mounted the light inside. I will be adding another lamp for the che near his hide. I will also adding potted plants this weekend. Amd I will also be adding some coco coir to the current substrate in order...
He seems to be but I just over worry that I am doing something wrong. These torts can be harder than my 3 girls and 2 dogs and 3 cats combined. Lol But I just want to ensure he is happy and healthy. And his size worries me.
