Well my indoor enclosure arrived today from pa....my plan was just to use outside right noe during the day....highs of 75 to 85. And they come in at night with there humidifer and heat. During the day they get run of the lawn which is watered twice daily and has sun till noon then dhafe in the...
So I got both my redfoots moved across the country....2600 miles.....amd I have setup a temp outdoor enclosure. My question is what do people do for housing outside in the arizona desert? Im in a town called wickenburg. About and hour and a half north west of phoneix. Any worry about the dry air?
So I am leaving pa tuesday am and I am headed to arizona... it is about a 36 drive... I plan to make aa straight threw drive between my wife and myself...I have a plastic live animal shipping tote so they will have a bit of room to move around. I also purchased 20 hand warmers which are good for...
So i adopted a (10 year old)....either not 10 or super small.....so after quarantine i finally let the new one meet my 2.5 year old Goji.....well the new tort seems fine, still very unsure and nervous.. but goji seems to follow and do a neck jerk at the new one.... up and down and left to...
it is the opposite side from his uv/heat bulb. but under his CHE, however his CHE si controlled with a t-stat set to 77 degrees about 2 inches above his substrate.
Yea he is in a baby pool so the sides are smooth but his bowl is away from the side. I really have no idea how he did it. Lol wish I could have taken a pic.
Some how goji the red foot ended up upside down in his water bowl today. I have no idea how he did it, or how long he was like that. Could have been 12 hours, I check on him when I leave at 5am and when I got home he was on his back. Lucky his water bowl is super shallow so no threat of...
I run a Ranco tstat. It is an on-off design but u can program the range of temp. My ambient temp is set for 79-82. And I run it under the soil and put the probe about 1 inch above the soil..they are about 50 dollars and are easy to wire up your self. I think for 75 you can order them pre wired...
Got power back a few hours ago....goji seems to be fine. Had a nice bath and some dinner. Thanks for the help.
And yes I need a generator but they are still hard to find.....I'm looking for a diesel welder so I can run my whole house.
i went to Target and bought a 30 dollar humidifier and a piece of rubber washing machine drain hose from lowes, also a timer....
i run my humidifer for 15 minutes every 4 hours, and it is piped into one corner of the enclosure so he can still have a dry spot.
here is the humdifier i got...
I moved his pool right next to the fireplace.... I'm doing all I can do... I feel the baby pool was a good idea but I learned it doesn't do well without power. Lol the power company said today another 7 days till we get power back. Gonna be a long time and a lot of work.
When we get power...
I have lost power in the hurricane. How long can goji the redfoot survive in 65 degrees. No one I know has power and it is bad here. I have a fire place goin but 65 - 68 is all I can get the house to.
Both hides are OK. I just worry about him getting she rot because the moss is so damp, sometimes when I pull him out to show him his dinner he is wet....
So goji has been home since Saturday, and spends all of his time in the moss hiding. I worry because my moss is always damp because of my humidifier. The pool ranges from a hot spot of 90 to a cool side of high 70's. Humidity in the hotspots of 20-30 and in my moss it ranges from 50-80. I...
I might still build a new enclosure just cause I feel like it looks funny in my office.[hr]
What is overkill mine.....I feel like its way to simple and that king of bothers me.....lol
