I am almost to tears while writing this, no joke. Rupert is the little musk we found in a box on our car. It was like someone left a wee baby on our doorstep. Alas we have no place for him. We were thinking about combining him with a RES we have, but after looking online at stories of turtles...
There is a pond by our school and I was kinda worried that someone just took him for the pond and shoved him in a box. But a mud turtle would make since being near a pond and he's still wet.
At school today when we were let out for lunch we found a box just sitting ontop of our car. There is a little guy in there with food. He is semi wet, we dont know how long he's been in the shoebox. This is the baby:
We have absolutely no clue what he is. His feet are webbed like an...
Here is baby Alroy at 2 months! Happy Birthday! :D
Health Question: Is a nose bubble normal every once in a while or are they all together bad? In his enclosure I have cypress mulch at the bottom, Coconut husk at top, and the Sphangum moss around the enclosure. The heat is between 80-85...
Thank you very much for all of the info. I have all natural top soil under the towel but I was worried he'd try to eat it. I've been taking him outside alot more and he's more adventious now. I think it was because the owner before me kept him in a container so he hasn't seen outside much. Now...
The bottom of the enclosure is a towel but I have sphagnum moss around the area for him to hide and cuddle in. I spray oftens but can't seem to get the humidity over 68% but I do try. The temperature is around 85 on the basking and 72 on the other side.[hr]
I do keep the towel damp, but not...
So I was watching him as he walked toward me and I saw a bubble form out of his nose, very small, and didn't linger. But I notice he rubs his eyes alot and sometimes they water. He does that frogging neck thing, and makes a clicking type noise when he does. He eats really well but I've only seen...
We have him and two Juvenile Russian (one male and one female)
But we also have adult two Box Turtles (one male one female)
They all get along very well.[hr]
I do as well. I haven't seen markings like his.
Say 'Ello to our newest (and last) addition to our beautiful little family.
Baby Alroy.
He's a month old, still has the little spike on his beak. He's a charmer as well. Love to just cuddle up beside you and take a nap. He started nawing on his Calcium Bone as soon as he was put in...
Yes she has a mate (Sir) owned by my boyfriend. They see each other everynight and often stay the night over with each other. I've had her for 2 to 3 months.
Thank you! We were calling her Little One, but once her friend got named Vladimir, Little One just didn't seem right. She is one to capture hearts and acts like she's royalty, so Genevieve seemed perfect for her.
Thank you so much for the information. I'll make sure to keep that in mind! Another question is Box turtles have more then one cluster of eggs a laying-season usually right?
Say hey howdy hey to my new addition. She does not have a name yet, but she'll have one soon. I bought her at a local pet-store, and she seems pretty healthy 'leavings' wise, no diarrhea or anything. She does pee out white stuff, which scared me at first but now that I know its normal we're all...
