    Turtle shell uses

I'm not sure where you are from but I have found some along the creek in West Virginia when I lived there from turtles, though they were pretty bleached out from the sun. Good luck!

    Best UVB bulb to use?

Seeing what everyone on here uses. I live in Mass and getting outside is next to impossible. I'm looking at the Zoo Med Powersun 100 watt MVB bulb but all the reviews I read say it only last a couple of weeks up to a couple of months. I don't want to spend the money on this and have it crap out...

    Hatchling Pyramiding?

I was hoping this was before and not all on me! I would feel so bad! I never even thought to compare picture before I got him until now. So looks like I should keep on keeping on with my way with him. Thanks for all the input everyone, I really appreciate it.

    Hatchling Pyramiding?

Picture of him maybe a week after I got him. It's not a good picture, but if I find a better of his shell I'll post them esp. since this photo is looking down on his shell rather then across. His scutes were about the same amount of dip in them.

    Hatchling Pyramiding?

Sometimes I look at his scutes & he looks like he's pyramiding. Maybe I'm just paranoid about this happening, I'm not sure. I've been following all the advice of dieting, substrate, heating, ect. on here. I've had him since Christmas & my sister got him from TortoiseShack.com. Opinions? Please?

    growing grasses indoors/habitat

I have grass growing in my hatchling Sulcata's tank. It sprounts really quickly - within a couple of days. I've seen him nibble on a couple peices, but usually just tramples the rest. The seeds don't pop out either. He tends to break it off rather then pull it out.

    yeah - he's growing

Fertilizer in plants from the store.

Thank you! I guess my project for tomorrow will be planting it in with him! I'll have to keep an eye on him with it. It's in a non draining pot in his enclosure right now but I occasionally catch him looking straight up at the aloe's bright green leaves, he's eyeing it already!

Fertilizer in plants from the store.

So, I went to Home Depot a week ago & picked up an aloe plant. I heard that I have to wait somewhere near 5 weeks for all of the fertilizer to leave the plant before actually planting it in the soil with my tortoise. I took it out of it's original soil & planted it in coconut coir, which is the...

Keeping the right temp and humidity

I have a heating pad under my tortoise's hut which makes it very very humid in there & cozy. I also drape a towel over half the cage and that keeps the humidity in and high. What are you using for substrate? Coconut Coir works really well for holding humidity.
