Did anyone see the 60 minutes show a couple of weeks ago about the illegal trade of tortoises. It featured a wild plowshare [probably not right spelling] that was beautiful, almost bell shaped, from Madagascar. Also interviewed Eric Good, who is a tortoise conservator in California. Really good...
One of the kids volleyballs went down silos burrow, took the turn and is gone, hopefully he can play soccer and push it out. He comes out to graze about 8 everynight :(
Silo has a summer home [burrow], if she lays a clutch of eggs will she do it in her burrow or build a seperate nest ? Also, how long after being fertilized will she lay them ?
so my 50 lb sullie has a burrow he uses in the spring and summer, he was really trying to get into this enclosed area 8 days ago, the nights were warm so i let him in and he went straight to the burrow. Since then he has only come out once and eaten only once whereas he had been eating daily...
Although he has a nice warm house he sleeps in, as soon as the sun is out for a couple of hours, he still comes out and basks in it against our back wall, he came out yesterday when it was 26 degrees!!!!

I hopefully have a chance to pick up two new leopard hatchlings in the next couple of weeks, Besides the obvious size issue, what are the biggest differences in raising these two breeds. When grown, can they be in the same yard?
Had a nice rainstorm yesterday, it seems everytime it rains, my desert ornates are triggered to move, they will constantly look for a way out of their enclosure.
I rarely see other sulcatas so i was excited to see they had them at Gulf World in panama city fl. I thought they would be great specimens but was disappointed. They have three on exhibit and they all looked terrible, really bad pyramiding on all three, one seemed almost flat, very lethargic...
fed my guys scrambled eggs today and they went to town on them. it almost seemed like it created a katnip response, usually they eat hot dogs and june bugs i collect from my pool in the morning, they usually wont eat fruit and veggies but i am guessing because they live in the desert, there are...
