Helllo, I heard Tortellini making clicking noises while he was sleeping at night. I stayed for a minute and they were constant every few seconds. I am not sure if it is normal sleeping sound like a snore? It seems in other threads tortoises make the noise while eating but I haven’t heard him...

Yes he has had it before and did not have any issues that I noted. I found it strange that he made noises, did not want to continue eating it, and that he walked a little funny afterwards like uncomfortable :/

I never leave him while showering however the aspiration part is concerning so definitely will change this to be shallow water levels. Thank you!

Question. Why does the water level have to be at this point? Is it bad for it to be higher than that, and if you can explain for what reason please? I have been doing deeper baths so I am now concerned how it can be bad for my tort. Thank you!

Yes sadly I think that is what happened and he relaxed a little and that’s when I was able to get him out. The vet said all looked good with him and it’s been a few days now and everything has been normal Tortellini behavior, eating lots and good poops.

Thank you for clarifying that risk as well. Should I offer extra hydration like extra soaking time since he slept under the bulb? I will move him next time I see him under the bulb, but I get the Che bulbs on Monday so we should be good after that.
