    Northwest Florida weed ID

I moved to a new rental home in Destin, FL and the yard has quite a few weeds. I just want to make sure they are safe before I send Squirtle out there to graze. Thank you in advance! Plant 1: I believe this is Florida Pusley, if it is, is this okay for a Sulcata to eat? Haven't seen much info on...

    Sad Situation

Thanks everyone. I sort of feel responsible, even though I thought it was safe. It was according to the data, but its just one of those things that happen I guess. I know the dogs had no better clue to tell him from a chew toy/pet. They were my scapegoat of sorts. I will be keeping my new tort...

    Sad Situation

This is a pretty sad story, so I warn you about reading further. So I moved back in with my parents, they have 3 dogs. I brought Blastoise (8mo Sulcata) home and they were apathetic towards him. They would look and sorta smell him, but go on their merry ways. Well I was still cautious, so for...

    Sulcata kiddie pool, enough sun?

Thanks everyone! Yeah I brought him inside for the night. As for predators, I have chicken wire overtop, the only predator I have is a cat, and thats if they can climb up to the 3rd floor. Ill bury the water dish in, he enjoys the dish, the walking up a little, but ill add some more substrate to...

    Sulcata kiddie pool, enough sun?

the water dish is plenty big for him, and he goes in and drinks and poops in it. The location of the pool always has at least 1/3 of it in the shade, because of the way the sun moves through my apartment complex. I'll add a humid hide shortly in the future. thanks for the reply!

    Sulcata kiddie pool, enough sun?

So, my sulcata (9 months and ~4.5in) has outgrown his indoor enclosure, even with his little balcony. I bought this kiddie pool and filled it with topsoil, (not potting, no chemicals were used) and placed some stuff for him. My question is, with him living outside, he will only get sun from...

    Floating Poop

Just recently my Sulcata has been having floaters. I was wondering if this is a bad or good sign or if it doesn't matter. I haven't changed anything except a higher level of water for soaks, any body have any input? Thanks!

    Sulcata Substrate Questions

I use coco coir, it holds moisture very well. I haven't had any problem with it at all. I also agree with the put a cover on your enclosure, it will help out.

    How to shine shells

I use olive oil, but I keep mine inside for right now. I do it about once a month or so, and like said, will polish off any excess. They are VERY photogenic once polished :)

    Shiny Sulcata

Thanks everyone! He loves mazuri! And he is shiny because I polish him with olive oil every month or so. This was just after I polished. And the flash is a beast making it bright

    Limes?

Thanks everyone, I figured that a little wouldn't be bad, and I was right!

Trouble keeping humidity at right percent

I agree with both, a lid will help significantly, and also having a water bowl helps a little and is good for them to drink also!

    Limes?

My sulcata ate a piece of lime, and I was wondering if it was okay. He didn't eat much, it was actually really cute, he took a bite, then another, then pulled away fast and shook his head. Like he tasted the sour of it. It was the first time, and it was an accident that he even got some. The...

    Is anyone ever worried

Being around microbes that could get you sick, is like an immunization. As long as you only receive small amounts of the microbe, its nothing to worry about. But don't go around licking cultures of E. coli, that would be bad.
