No power at the moment however we've had a few hours with power since yesterday. We have the tort in the bathroom in this tub with a pack of warm water.
She seems fine for right now. I wanted to get your guys' thoughts on feeding her. I'm worried that she might get constipated without high...
Thanks for the advice. We moved her to our coffee table in the middle of the living room in a smaller tub with a warm water bottle and some towels on top to trap the heat. She's currently at ~72 degrees
Our power is out in Texas thanks to the bizarre weather. It almost never gets this cold here so we don't have back up generator or anything to keep the enclosure warm
We had to wrap up tortellini just in case. It's already 60 degrees in her enclosure. There's no telling when the power will...
Tom I appreciate your input!
I bumped up the temps in her enclosure a few degrees and she seems to have been more active over the last few days. I just got her back from the vet and they said she seems to be fine and doesn't have symptoms of a RI. I guess she just squeaks sometimes ?♂️
I honestly do not have an established veterinarian for my redfoot. I'm worried mine might be developing a respiratory infection and I guess it wouldn't hurt just to have her looked at. Anyway do any of you know of a good tortoise/reptile veterinarian in the Dallas TX / DFW Area?
On the concern...
Yeah at first I was a little worried when it would fluctuate by like 10% of her total weight within a couple days. But it seems to be more consistent the older she gets.
I just realized that as of today I've been tracking my torts weight for exactly a year. I wanted to share the graph with you guys, I thought it was kinda interesting:
I just wanted to share some pics of turtelini to mark the first year of owning her, my first and only tortoise. I wanted to thank everyone her for providing advice and insight, I think it has really helped me be more comfortable with caring for my tortoise along the way.
She (I think) is almost a year and a half old. Last I weighed her she was 240 grams and fits in my hand like a small potato, if that can be considered a unit of measurement
I've noticed some tiny white bugs in my enclosure, I had more in the past but they seemed to disappear after I changed the substrate. Recently they've started popping back up; I've changed the substrate again but this time they don't seem to be going away. I believe they are spring tails but I'm...
Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a hibiscus plant from a local garden. I forgot to ask whether or not they treat their plants with anything at the time of purchase and unfortunately they've closed for the time being due to COVID.
So my question is, is it possible to wash the flowers enough...
I've been growing some dandelions in a hydroponic aerogarden using aerogarden liquid plant food
This is probably a stupid question, but is it safe for my redfoot to eat the greens?
