Gave my 5 pound sulcata a new cuddle bone today. She has eaten half of it. Is there such a thing as too much.? I know they eat what they need. It has been a few day since she has had one.
I live in Phoenix, Arizona and they are not permitted to sell them any more here. Causes too many allergies. I have three trees bought back in 1978. So I am in good shape for leaves.
Nordys is outside 24-7. She has a 4x8 grass enclosure. I have a 50 wt. red bulb inside her house for warmth. Is the color appropriate? is there something better? I live in Phoenix.
I am hoping you could give me some guidance. I am setting up an outdoor 4x8 enclosure.. I want to install a heat lamp. I am in Phoenix, but it does get cold here at night. How much distance should there be between the lamp and the top of my sulcata? I purchased a 50w red bulb. thank you in...
I live in Phoenix also. Nordys is 1 year old and has been outside most of the summer. The sprinklers go on at 4 am (20 min) and again at 1:30 pm (5 Min) She is weighing in at 13 ounces. Eats grass, lettuce, yellow pepper , mulbuerry leaves, strawberries, dandelions, aloe vera and other cactus...
Nordys is 1 year old the end of this month. She weighs 11 ounces. Eats mostly outside plants. Some strawberry tops, watermelon, cactus, mulberry leaves, yellow bells, peppers, dandelions, grass, and anything else I can find that is natural.
Temps today were 110+. My sulcata (Nordys) lives outside. She has good access to grass and water. Her hide is covered and has shade. Is she OK to stay outside during this hot spell? She also gets sprinkled on when the auto sprinklers go on. She is a little larger now than this picture.
Thanks
Nordys has a lot of shade. I am hoping she will be outside most of the summer. However, if during the summer (115+ days) I may bring her in. Maybe just wet her enclosure down during the day. Kind of like evap cooling. We will see. I am still learning. She likes heat, not sure if that would...
