Want to make a tort table

For what species and size? I use plywood and 2x4s for most of my builds.

I used pine and then you can use marine ply on the bottom so its waterproof but i used something else and i dont know what its called 
I'll be building my tort a new table soon and plan on using pine 'common boards' they look great, are relatively cheap, and are non-toxic, unlike cedar.

18" wide won't allow for much room after you put in the water dish. Don't start there if you have the option.
