I have a sheet of plywood I put over his burrow to keep him from burrowing in the winter. My mom moved it and forgot to put it back. Luckily, he came out and went into his heated night box anyways thankfully.
Thanks for the quick replies!
So I currently have one of my sulcatas down in his burrow, about 5 feet deep. I live in Southern California and it's raining lightly and is supposed to be 46 tonight. I'm assuming his extinct will kick in and he'll come out if he gets too cold or if it starts raining too hard. Right?
Not to be a pest but is that an enclosed enclosure? Because there is no way you'll be able to keep it humid in that type of enclosure with the way it's set up
Haven't posted a picture of this guy in a long time. This is Darryl (walking dead) and he's about 3 years old. 12" long and about 12 pounds. He has some slight pyramiding but overall in good health. Active and eats like no other. He's been outside a full year now and I noticed recently that he's...

So I'm going to keep my sulcatas night box at 80 degrees. I'll be using a heat mat and a radiant heat panel. My question is what do you guys set your heat mat to? Since the air inside the box will differ from the mat. Thanks
Thanks for the reply! I'll try using the pad then! And what about a thermostat, any recommendations? Zoomed? Or something from Lowes?

I forgot to mention, the box is not insulated so will the heat pad provide the necessary heat? Thanks
I'm finally moving my sulcata outdoors to live year round. I was given a wood box to use, 34"Wide, 17" tall and about 26" in length. I was going to use a oil filled heater but the box isn't nearly tall enough. So what's the next best option you guys think? Cane mat? Or a CHE? Or both? Thanks...
