    I decided on a red-foot, Leopards get a tad too large...0_0

    Zoo pictures :)

I go to that zoo quite often! I love membership! :D I have relationships with a lot of the keepers and most of the animals you posted pics of I have fed/held at one point. Many animals there I claim as "mine", I have a post-it note on some of the show animals that aren't on display. Every time I...

Red-Footed Tortoise or Leopard Tortoise (babcocki)?

Again, Hi everyone! I narrowed down my search to two sole species. The red-footed tortoise and the leopard tortoise. I just love the larger, but not huge size of the leopards, not to mention their cute "shy" personalities (as babies) but the outgoing personality and again, the beauty of the...

    Best tortoise for my situation?

Narrowed things down to two species...Red-Foots and leopards. Since my springs, falls and winters are harsh here, those seasons will be spent indoors (I am planning to build a 5x5 enclosure, will this be alright for an adult male?) For leopards, I would get babcocki, I don't like the pardalis as...

    Best tortoise for my situation?

Yea, Russians aren't going to go well with me with that digging....LOL.. Quick question, the marginated tortoises are really cool, but I'm still looking for something a little bigger. I know that no tortoise is the "perfect" pet, but I want to get the closest. Does anyone have any...

This is where it all began for me..

The fly river turtles have always been my favourite (aquatic) turtle. That and the mata-mata have always intrigued me. Fly river turtles are so similar to sea turtles (in looks), and the best part is, (while it may not be a good idea), it is legal to own them! So my dream isn't so unrealistic....:D

    ALDABRA TORTOISE BREEDER

Wow! IU know this thread it pretty old but I admire you greatly! These tortoises have it great! I love thre high price of these guys (probably something you've never heard before eh?), it deters irresponsible, immature people from obtaining them. To tell you the truth most PARROTS I know of are...

    Ahh, yes...the CUDDLE bone!

That's great! We have a huge Rubbermaid bin of cuddle bones for our bird (Bird beaks are VERY powerful, and she shreds though them in a matter of seconds!), and let me tell you from experience, cuddle bones smell NASTY with a capital P and a capital U...;)

    Another Dog Story...

RE: Another Dog Story (Why tortoises & dogs DO NOT MIX. No exceptions!) Thank you for this eye opening post. I, myself have dogs, but would NEVER let one come in contact with any animal of a different species. Not a cat, not a bird (we have a bird too), not a fish (yep got that covered), not a...

    Best tortoise for my situation?

Hello again! As stated in my introduction post, I am in the market for my first tortoise. I am not able to get more than one (space doesn't permit), and I understand the lifelong commitment, so I want to make the right choice. You probably get this type of question a lot, but it really is an...
