    Russian Tortoise Breeding in AZ

I've had one Russian Tortoise for several years now and recently got 3 more. I have built a big 20 feet X 6 feet enclosure for all 4 (1 male, 3 female). I live in the Phoenix Arizona area. I was wondering if there are any other Russian Tortoise owners in Arizona who have bred them who could...

Thanks guys, and Tom, thank you. That is some very good information. Does anyone know what the usual hatch rate is for Sulcatas?

    First Clutch of Sulcatas!

She has! Thanks for asking. She laid another clutch of 30 eggs last week. I put them in the same incubator, however now it is full, so I may need to make another in case she has any more clutches. I noticed one of my eggs from her original clutch started to mold. I picked it up and it felt very...

Looking for a Sulcata in Phoenix

Hi Jeff, thank you for offering to adopt your tortoises. I recently adopted another Tortoise from a forum member, so I am trying to focus my efforts on him and my other tortoises. I will be moving to a larger house in a few months with a larger yard so I don't want to take in any more tortoises...

Can a female Sulcata be too young to mate?

Thanks for the help guys, he just mated with the bigger female. She is definitely big enough and it seems like he isn't harassing her yet, but I am watching to make sure he doesn't get too crazy. I have separated my smaller female from them to keep her safe.

Can a female Sulcata be too young to mate?

Hi there, I'm somewhat new to this forum, but I had a question about Sulcatas. I have a male Sulcata that has recently started to mate. He is trying to mate with an 11 inch female that I have. I also have a 15 inch female but he hasn't tried to mate with her yet, but maybe he'll try in the...

    New Enclosure for Russian

I think I'll look for a bush to plant if I can. I will definitely monitor the temperature to make sure that it is cool enough in the hide. I also plan to spray him down with water regularly. Thanks for the help everyone.

    New Enclosure for Russian

I could always pull the bricks out more too to make it bigger, if he doesn't have enough room.

    New Enclosure for Russian

Thanks! It's about 9 by 5 feet. I have a water dish, but a Terra cotta saucer would be perfect. I'm a little worried about planting a bush, since we are currently renting. But I'll see how he likes the hide and make another if he doesn't seem happy with the one. We will be buying a home within...

    Tiny Tales

Hi I'm new to the forum, but I've been taking care of tortoises for some time. I really like the burrow you made. I was wondering if you have had any flooding problems with it when it rains?
