I visited my parents' today and gathered quite a lot of clover and other weeds for the tortoises. My sulcata Tortellini and the new Russian Tortiana really enjoyed the treat!
I don't know of this helps, but I'm in in northeast FL. Also, I believe the second one can grow fairly tall, almost like a tree, but the stalk stays weedy and thin.
We have pretty much finished her outdoor enclosure. It's roughly 8'x6'. There is a heat lamp built into the roof of her house. I think she will like it.
