    Is this sleeping position ok?

Also, follow the information in this thread. It should have lots of localized information. https://tortoiseforum.org/threads/calling-on-indian-star-owners-residing-in-india.68875/

Fix the surrounding. Like @Tom mentioned, you can't have them on the floor. If you have a garden in your house, immediately shift them there. On the other hand, if you live in an apartment/flat with no garden, then you need to make an artificial one. As a starter, get some 1-2 inch deep soil...

    My Tortoise

Give it its natural habitat. Ensure that he gets plenty of sun and has some private hiding space. That'd be the first step to ensure it has a healthy environment.

    Tortoise won’t eat food

You've given them a nice setup with enough vegetation. I'd not worry on what they should eat. Instead, I'd just offer and leave the decision to them.

Luckily I haven't had any issues with cats around. But there's always a risk involved.

Welcome. You'll find plenty of like minded people here. You seem to have a nice spacious setup for your tort. I'm sure you'll take good care of him. Please be sure to keep him safe from predators.

    "Star" Laid Eggs

I second that. 6 yrs and counting. I have a pair (not sure of their sex) and they've lived happily. But they aren't housed in a vivarium. They live in an open space garden with ample space. Sometimes they like to live together under the same bush for weeks. At other times, they like to live...

Indian star tortoise too scared to come out!

Use your own judgement please. I refrain from giving a yes/no answer. There are some very informative threads on this forum. Please read them. For stars, some of the folks have created an Indianized care sheet. Please read it...

Try this out: https://www.tortoiseforum.org/threads/calling-on-indian-star-owners-residing-in-india.68875/post-1890147 If you put the same setup, the too hot problem could be mitigated for the tort.
