    I've got babies!

So I have been kind of just lurking on the forums not posting much, but I had to come in and post this update! Eggs have hatched. Here are a few pics of them hatching. Will put updated pics up tomorrow when I can take more. I ended up with 5 out of 5 of the Gulf Coast eggs hatching, but only...

    Nesting

Im pretty sure I have some others in the ground I don't know about. Of my 3 adult females I have caught the same girl laying two clutches and nothing from the other two, so I think that I just didn't catch them laying. And the 3-toed girl I caught laying once.

    Nesting

Ha I am in the same boat tonight! Caught one of my Gulf Coast girls nesting tonight. She laid 4 in the hole and Im debating on whether Im gonna let this clutch stay in the ground to give that a try or bring them in to the incubator as well.

    Anxiously waiting...

Thanks all! @Yvonne G have any advice for hatchling setups when they finally hatch? Been doing a lot of research but always feel its best to get it straight from someone who does it!

    Anxiously waiting...

This wait is killing me! I posted about a month ago about my 10 box turtle eggs in the incubator. The 5 gulf coast are at 33 days in the incubator and the now 4 three-toed eggs are a day behind at 32 days. One of them turned brown and caved in so I removed it before it burst or got too yucky...

    Box turtle eggs!

So last night I caught my gulf coast girl nesting. She gave me 5 eggs! Then tonight I just caught my 3 toed girl nesting. She has only been with me a couple of weeks, and is housed alone so unsure if hers will be fertile or not. I don't really know much about her previous life so do not know...

    Eggs and More Eggs!

So I dug up the eggs from my Gulf Coast that was nesting last night! She laid 5. I decided to go out tonight and give a little extra food to help out big momma that laid those and go check my other pen that right now only has the lone female 3 toed that I just got last week and wouldn't you...

    Yippee!!!!

So I rarely go out into my backyard this late at night to check on the turtles...but the darn dogs were barking to go out at this hour which they never do so I went out with them and decided to go take a look at the boxies and found this! Just snapped one quick pic and left her to herself! If...

@Yellow Turtle01 I am hoping to breed them! Hopefully will be finding some eggs from the gulf coast group within the next couple of months.

    Turtles keep on coming!

So I am still working on my outdoor enclosure for my gulf coast box turtles. All the important stuff is finished (containment, hides, some plants, etc.) and now I am just working on making it look better. I started off with a group of 3 adult males, 2 adult females and one juvenile female...

    Sprucing up new outdoor enclosure

Updated pics. Planted some Mondo Grass, 2 different types of hosta, and the small hibiscus bush. I ended up buying just 5 bags of top soil to try out at first and I like it! The turtles were the most active I have seen them so far while I was in there dumping it. They immediately were...

    Sprucing up new outdoor enclosure

@Abramsmytankturtle I have looked at your enclosure bunches of times! My turtles have started digging down into the grass in the enclosure, so do you think I still should add topsoil on one side or even in the entire enclosure for them to dig? So far I have added Hosta, Mondo Grass, and a...

    Sprucing up new outdoor enclosure

Lets see if I can figure out how to post pics. Here's what I have so far. The walls are 16 inches high, but there is a 4inch lip around the top to prevent escapes. Also have stakes driven into the ground at a few inch intervals around the inside walls to prevent digging out. I have two terra...
