@Otis Humberg Did you post this in the right spot? I've been feeding my Russian mostly wildflowers and weeds. I haven't needed to purchase his food from a grocery store in a long time.
nice enclosure he is really lucky to have this home. i dont have enough space in my house to create something like this.
do you feed him by these plants only or you add extra things?
@persica Occasionally I will feed him greens with supplements, and I will bring him a variety of leaves, sometimes I flower too! I just gave him a treat yesterday of a cactus apple.
@Oxalis its almost my sons meal of course not now because here is autumn and he is hibernating right now like the year before.
what do you in cold Season ? do you bring him indoor or you let him hibernate during autumn and winter?
@persica Yes, it is getting chilly here too! I think Steve is starting to slow down and getting ready to hibernate! He has an indoor bedroom with a tortoise table. He stays inside at night as well as during the cooler and rainy days. He hasn't been outside for a few weeks because it's just too cold now. I have read on this forum that letting him hibernate outside would certainly kill him since it gets so cold during the Michigan winters. Sometimes the temperatures can go below 0°F, and it shouldn't ever be below 40°F when he hibernates. He will definitely be hibernating inside.
