So, I noticed today while bathing spud that his plastron is really dirty.
I tried to clean it (with a cotton bud) but he hated being held up.
The dirt gets caught in the creases of his plastron as it's not smooth.

So, should I worry about shell rot?
Do I need to keep cleaning it?

As soon as he is awake I shall upload pictures. :)

Thank you!

Not good photos as he was squirming but I cleaned as much as I could but can't get it out if all the creases.

You could try to clean it with a toothbrush? Looks fine to me but I'm not an expert
Thank you, I have tried cotton buds but bit a toothbrush yet as it seems to rough on the lil guy haha

It doesn't bother me, as long as he's not in danger of anything from the dirt being trapped :)

looks perfectly normal to me.
Just new growth that will be softer and more sensitive.
This sensitivity means it's good to be very gentle when touching or cleaning.
Spuds growing well, that's good.

Looks fine. No need to do anything.

Soft bristled tooth brushes work well if you are inclined to clean it.
