Why did the soft shelled turtle cross the road?

This is the soft shelled turtle blocking the golf cart lane in The Villages, Florida. It seemed to be pondering its chances of crossing the road.. heavy with golf carts and cars.......






So why did the softie cross the road?

It didn't. We turned it around and it went back to the swamp from whence it came...

He was pretty feisty, kicked once, my sister said his head lunged out with a snapping motion when she was taking pictures.

That"s a good size one. Sof shells for the most part, are as cranky as snappers.

They seem to be really peaceful but I watched some videos where they are really aggressive , they are really cool tho
