My Tortoise started shedding its skin about week and a half ago. does anyone know how long this lasts? and if it's normal for them to soak more then usual during this time?

i dont know about how long . But warm water soaks do help the shedding a lot. I found that if their head it shedding hold them under a warm water faucet for a bit then soak them. Kinda like a shower. Hope this helps

my turtles/tortoises do it too. Shedding means he is growing bigger(yay!) and yes, I have seen they like to sit the water a bit more than usual becuase it can help loosen the dead skin and makes it easier for him to rub it off. It can last a few weeks, and can happen at very close intervals to each other. Don't try and help him by picking it off or rubbing it, as the new skin might no be ready yet.
Hope this helps!

I usally up my humidity in the enclosure too. Helps keep the skin from being too dry.
