My girl Poppy has a very sharp marginal that is injuring her back leg. What is the common fix for this. The injury is minimal but I certainly don't want it to get worse.

You can take a little piece of sand paper and gently file the edge to make it flat instead of pointed. Or if you can't do that, tape a small strip of masking tape over it.

Is it the blacker part of the one scute where it looks like there is an extra square piece that protrudes past the rest of the scute?
The one pic is too blurry to see anything. Try to post a pic of the sharp area.

I’m pretty sure it is this section.

The lighter colored sections seem the sharpest.

I see. The section I was seeing is actually not part of the scute but empty space and just dark showing lol.
If it were me, I would take a regular nail file and lightly file it until it feels smooth.
